Review: Chanel Coco Shine Lipstick

I know I know I’m probably super late to the hype around Chanel Coco Shine in BOY but I’ve been returning to my nudes again and I just really wanted to try it out!  BOY I’m so glad I did lol.

I already had Chanel Coco Shine in 62 Monte Carlo and I loved that one for summer, so I knew what the texture and formula was like and 54 Boy seemed like the perfect nude for my skin tone so I decided to pick it up!

As with all Chanel products, the packaging is so so classy and elegant and I love it!  It’s simply black/gold with the Chanel logo on top and the lipstick is a bit thinner in width compared to the standard lipstick size, if there is one.  Coco Shine is square and sleek!

62 Monte Carlo is a coral red and 54 Boy is a nude with pink undertones, my favourite kind of nude.  I love them both, at first I thought Monte Carlo wasn’t as pigmented as I thought it would be but now I’m loving the sheerness of it, especially in the summer.  Plus, I can always add a red lipliner underneath if I want the color to stand out more.  Boy on the other hand was just perfect from the moment I tried it on!  It is sheer but it has just enough color to go with my favourite brown smokey eye look.  I also use a liner underneath sometimes when I want it more pinky or more opaque.

It doesn’t really have a smell to me and I can’t really taste anything when I wear it so that’s always nice.  The texture is balm like with a bit of color definitely more color than with a tinted lip balm.  It’s moisturising and comfortable on the lips but because it’s sheer, the longevity is quite short, which kind of sucks but it’s another one of those lipsticks I love to pull out of my purse and put on because it just makes you feel so classy, so I don’t mind at all.

Down below, I’m wearing Boy on the left and Monte Carlo on the right!

It is a luxury lipstick, so it’s a bit pricier and is around 4000yen.
