Review: Visee Velvet Shimmer Eyes

I’ve always been fond of Visee eyeshadows and was really excited to try out their Velvet Shimmer Eyes from their 2015 Autum/Winter line!  They have 2 palettes, one is a warm tone brown palette BR-2 Brown gold and the other one is a cool toned pink/taupe palette GY-1 smokey pink.

Velvet Shimmer Eyes palettes come in a cardboard style box, GY-1 in a light pink and BR-2 in a Charcoal grey with a lovely lace flower print on it.  Both have 6 shades and they are all shimmer.  The eyeshadows are embossed with the same flower as the packaging and makes it looks very pretty.

The pigmentation is good and they do feel velvety & very buttery.  Quite easy to blend as well.  I use a primer underneath the eyeshadows and I find it lasts all day without it creasing.  There’s a variety of color in this palette, from the lighter shades that you can use for a daytime look to the darker shades for a smokey eye glam look.  They are buildible so you can definitely intensify the look too!  I love the colors in this palette but it would have been perfect if there was at least one matte shade that you can use for your crease and to blend out.  I always have to reach for another eyeshadow just for the crease and to blend out the colors.   If your not a fan of shimmery shades, you should stay away from this palette because it’s very shimmery.  In Japan, so many eyeshadow palettes come with only shimmer shades though.

Here is a look I did using the GY-1 smokey pink palette.

I used

E all over the lid until the crease

B on the outer third

B&E on the lower lids

A&D mixed together in the inner corners top and bottom and a little on the brow bone
